So it seems to me we have found the true reason for T3 mining vessel. Frigate or barge size - do not matter IMHO. It should be able to mine ore and ice (gas is a static cloud, no way to stay in ring), have bonus for probing and very high basic speed or bonus to prop module fitting. Ability to mine moon minerals would be interesting too, but is not that crucial in my opinion.
What can be realy hard to implement is the big amount of celestial objects, moving and colliding. Hello TiDi? On the other hand the view can be hillarios... |

I think CCP will not have a problem with making new mining ship for rings. It will have a problem making ring themself. Hundrets of moving objects, each of different shape and properties. Interracting, colliding, making new objects etc... That will be the problem, not the new ship. |

I think it is time to make one special thread about mining future. Make it sticky and put all interesting ideas in it. Like this one or comet mining. Ideas like "buff mining barge" or "give us another (better) ship for afk mining" are not interesting IMHO. New Mining Mechanics: Multi Ore, Multi Methods IS interesting. |
